Media: Education Stories Win Casey Awards
Congrats to the journalists recognized for the Casey award, especially including education-related winners like “Assault on Learning,”The Philadelphia Inquirer, “An Epidemic of Expulsions,” The Center for Public Integrity, and “Getting In,” Boston Globe.

I think it’s great that they’re being recognized for education stories. Education is arguably the least (ironically) intellectually covered institution in the media. If I go purchase the best-selling paper in Vermont, where I live, chances are I will see at least one instance of “EDUCATION IS CUTTING INTO TAXPAYER MONEY”-themed article. So yes, recognize those who actually write something useful and honest.
