Video: Dan Rather Examines Test Scoring Industry

Here's a preview of the Tuesday night Dan Rather show about the test scoring industry. As you may recall from Todd Farley's tell-all, Making the Grades, it's not a pretty sight even before you get to issues of cheating.

I worked for three years as a test scorer/creator at both Pearsons and ACT before I became a public school teacher and I find nothing more absurd then listening to edu pundits talking about how we can use standardized testing to evaluate teachers and schools (and students for that matter). People against the current reform movement/standardized test movement should stick to this strategy, exposing the nature of and industry which is standardized testing. It won't stop wealthy donors from funding Rhee, but it will get parents on board to fight this mess.

Great video. Will bookmark this Web site and return again.
