Media: New NYT Education Reporter Comes From Sports

image from a1.twimg.comLast year the new education reporter at the Times was from the Style section.  This time he's from Sports.

Meet Alan Schwarz, the longtime sports writer (and Pulitzer nominee) for the NYT who from some recent bylines and his Twitter bio (@alanschwarz) is transitioning to education.

No word yet on whether ther are any other shifts or shakeups going on within the education team, or whether the move is permanent.

What an interesting shift - sports to education. The first article or two will inform the reading public as to what can be expected from this specific journalist.

his bio says "New York Times national correspondent for Education; previously in Sports" but schwarz emailed to tell me he's just filling in for sam dillon on vacation
