US News Suffers High School Ranking Embarassment

Last week, the Washington Post's Jay Mathews predicted that starting its own high school rankings system was going to provide some ups and downs for US News.  That prediction came true sooner than anyone could have predicted.  Yesterday, the paper's editor had to apologize for mis-ranking a Vermont school in the top five on its new list:   Oops! Vermont schools No. 5 ranking by U.S. News was a mistake (AP).
