NH, VT, and MA are best, NV, MI, NM are the worst over all, according to Wonkblog  (Child well-being in four charts).

It's pretty much the same story when it comes to states' education rankings (Education rankings here).

We do have, overall, a fantastic healthcare system for children here. I didn’t think we’d be the best worldwide, but I know it’s very good. Education, if only because we’ve screwed fewer things up than most major cities (and actually, our largest city is 40,000 strong), we also do pretty well with.
