Standardized tests for the arts is a horrible idea. Art is about feeling, about aesthetic, and you can’t really quantify those facets of existence. Trying to would undermine student ability.

And while Romney’s technically correct on a direct level, the ability measurement techniques enacted by federal government ultimately decide who gets paid what in education. In a “trickle-down” economy, as I believe right-wing thought so frequently poetically describes it, all flow of money ultimately depends on government regulation, or the lack thereof.
