Quotes: DC Superintendent Against Published Ratings
"Our professional responsibility to our employees is developmental in nature and is not about putting a label on who they are at one moment in time."
-- Kaya Henderson on VAM, Rocketship, cheating, and being superintendent in the new Scholastic Administrator

I’m glad she sees things that way. In this context, there’s no real benefit to judging her employees publicly. That honestly should go without saying, however.

I agree whole-heartedly with her. We seem to have the same problem in Memphis , possibly with the same type of evaluation process which seems to be very subjective.

I do not think that the performance of employees should be published. School systems should work with teachers and other employees who face difficulty in the classroom. A major problem with teacher evaluations is that they are not always reliable. I support improving education on all levels, but I do like the idea of disgracing teachers.
