I ran into Lemann’s article of my own accord earlier this morning. I loved this quote in particular: “Republicans in Congress have fought Obama on the interest rate, saying that keeping it low would add to the federal deficit.” I’m a fan of logical contradictions, in this case, the idea that Republicans believe taxes should be as low as possible, but because this isn’t a “tax”, it can be raised to the stratosphere and back.
