Video: Colbert Interviews Terrorist Teachers Union Leader

Concerned about terrorist unions, Colbert had "Mullah Sheik Omar Randi Weingarten" on his show a couple of nights ago: "Everybody knows teachers unions are totally discredited.  You hurt our children every day.  Why should we continue to allow you to organize so you can hurt our children and our country and our budgets even more?" he said. Meanwhile:  Wisc. This humerous look into a serious subject, one in which I was unfamiliar with prior to reviewing the video highlights a series of important points. The unions, teacher's unions in particular are incredibly strong, powerful, and wealthy orgnizations and to allow them to dictate school policy and agendas by virtue of strength could lead to disaster. I can see how teachers want to be paid a fair wage, decent working conditions, and have a say in the curriculum, but some of what these unions are after is egregious and if the unions continue to get stronger, will they ever be willing to compromise, even when it is for the betterment of the system but could undermine their power.

Again, an interesting look into a serious issue, one that I do not find very funny.
