Quotes: "A Peek Inside The Boiler Room"
Ideally, [teacher blogs] are doing two things: helping teachers get through the day and [giving] a peek inside the boiler room so we can see what it's really like in a school. -- Yours truly in the Christian Science Monitor story about the Natalie Munroe case

I find it interesting the situation Ms. Munroe has created because I find it hard to believe that she does not have anyone to talk to about her daily issues as an instructor, because the teacher's do have an area where they can relax and discuss common issues, so I am not buying that she needed someone to talk to for lack of support. In addition, what I find interesting is that at the online colleges I instruct at, to avoid this very scenario, discussions forums are created, allowing instructors to discuss controversial issues within a closed environment and get support and answers to questions, and even vent.
As this issue and discussion moves forward, I wonder if Ms. Munroe did not create this situatino and scenario on purpose, which if she did, I find her to be a very sad individual and educator.
If her students are lazy whiners then challenge them, get the parents involved, take action, but to post a blog where I am betting she knows that her students are following her, makes her the bigget whiner of them all. In any case, she obviously received the attention that she was after.
No one wins on this one, as her free speech will be protected, and her class destroyed. Well done!
