Teachers: Duncan Follows Up On Conference Call Fail

EdSec Duncan made followup calls to Facebook teacher group leaders after a Monday afternoon conference call disappointed many who participated, according to teacher blogger David Cohen (Can You Hear Me Now?).  The Facebook group is Teachers’ Letters to Obama.

I appreciate the link, and hope readers will check out more of the content at InterACT. This particular post served mainly as a portal to several other blogs covering the same event. Their first person accounts, especially the ones by Marsha Ratzel and Anthony Cody (linked in the updates at the bottom of my post), provide the more complete picture of how this story played out in the past few days.

Duncan at least promised the future teachers at Lesley University that there would be a need for 1 million teachers in 4-6 years. This comes on the heels of the project 100-300,000 teachers nationwide losing a job.
